Pastor Alfred T. Lands

Family Life Missionary Baptist Church

 

 

Pastor Alfred T. Lands is the Founder and Pastor of the Family Life Missionary Baptist Church. Family Life was birth in 1996 under his leadership and has consistently developed into a ministry focusing on building the character in the family of God.

 

Pastor Lands was born in New Orleans, Louisiana and raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.  He attended grade school and high school in the same area.  He earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from the University of Southwestern Louisiana and a Master of Urban Ministry from Urban Seminary of Atlanta. He is currently pursuing a Master of Divinity at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.  He was ordained as a Bishop March of 2011 in the Family Life International Fellowship, Inc. He is the bishop of protocol in the Master’s Circle Christian Fellowship and a member of the “House of Bishops” and a member of the Communion of Evangelical Episcopal Churches.

 

He moved to Atlanta, Georgia in 1980 to pursue work in Graphic Design and Marketing. He and his wife have operated Alfred Lands Creative Design Solutions, their self-employed graphic design business for over 30 years. 

 

Pastor Lands is born again and God has given him a vision to “Take the Family to Godly Heights.”  He is married to Rev. Rosemary Lands, for 34 years. She was consecrated as a bishop in the Family Life International Fellowship, Inc. in 2013. She also serves as the Assistant Pastor with a Master Degree in Social Work and a Master of Urban Ministry from Urban Seminary of Atlanta.  Presently she is pursuing a Master of Divinity at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. 

 

They have two daughters that are musicians and they lead an all-female Gospel band called God’s Gurls. The oldest is Deaconess Trunae’ Alyse Green who plays lead guitar, a graduate of Georgia State, and a Master's from Laselle College. She is married to Deacon-Elect Thomas Green and they have two sons, Tylan Trunell & Tory Leon with one daughter on the way. Thomas has an MBA from Georgia State University and is in upper-level management with Amazon.  The youngest is Trulyse Faith who plays the bass guitar and is a graduate from Georgia State University. Presently, teaching high school math at  Westlake High School while preparing to enter Graduate School. The one awesome addition to the family is Bishop Lands' nephew, Rev. Taj B. Lands from Los Angeles, California.  He has an undergraduate degree from Georgia State University in Criminal Justice and is a Director of Security with SecurAmerica.

Rosemary Lands was born on September 16, 1956 to Pastor Willie Frank Brooks, (deceased) and First Lady Jimmie Brooks in Memphis, Tennessee.  She is the next to the oldest of five siblings; Evangelist Patricia Mack, Pastor Willie Frank Brooks, Jr., Co-Pastor Electries Reed; Mrs. Jurelda Gray, and Pastor Tondalaya Brooks-Kidd.   She resided in Memphis, Tennessee until the age of 15 at which time the family relocated to Milwaukee, Wisconsin and her father began his lifelong Pastorate.  

She graduated from North Division High School, Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1974.  After working in the Banking Industry for four years, she proceeded to earn a Bachelors of Arts Degree with a specialty in Social Work from Marquette, University, Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1983.  

She also served faithfully in ministry at Guiding Light M.B. C. Milwaukee, Wisconsin, founding Pastor, Willie F. Brooks for approximately 10 years.  She worked in several capacities of the ministry:  Sunday School Teacher, Young Adult Usher, Choir Member, Choir President; Young Women Ministry Leader, and Youth Leader. 

She married Alfred T. Lands in July, 1982 and moved to Atlanta, Georgia in May, 1983.  She enrolled in Clark Atlanta University in the fall of 1983 and graduated with a Master of Social Work, Concentration in Corporate Social Work in 1985.  She is a certified trainer with Prepare/Enrich Marriage Program, Intimate Encounters Marriage Program and 10 Great Dates. She graduated from Master of Urban Seminary, Atlanta, GA. May, 2013. She is presently pursuing a Master of Divinity at New Orleans Theological Seminary.  

After moving to Atlanta, Georgia, Rosemary and Alfred worked in several ministries.  The first church they joined was Union Grove Baptist Church, Pastor Rugene Bryant from 1982 to 1983. She and her husband were appointed as Advisors of the Youth Ministry and Church leaders.    

In 1984-1988 the Lord led her and her family to Mt. Herman Baptist Church; Pastor Nathaniel Wilbourne (deceased).  She and her husband were designated as Advisors of the Youth Ministry; she was President of the Nurses Guild; President of the Pastor Aid, and Ordained Deaconess and Choir Member. 

In 1983 to 1992, they joined New Calvary Baptist Church, Pastor P.L. Redmond, Jr.  She served as a board member for New Calvary’s first 501©3 community ministry; Youth Sunday School Teacher; Pastor’s Aid.  In June 1992, they joined Greater Piney Grove Baptist Church, Dr. William E. Flippin.  She and her husband were appointed to develop the Family Life Ministry.  She and her husband were also designated to teach the first Young Adult’s Sunday School Class for ages 18-40.  She was also a member of the Minister’s Wives Ministry and the Pastor’s Aid Ministry.  

In 1996, she and her husband birthed the Family Life Missionary Baptist Church with a vision “to take the family to godly heights through reaching, teaching, preaching God’s Word”.  She finally knew what God had been preparing her to do.  She worked with passion in this ministry with her husband.  She was    licensed by him to preach in 1999 and ordained in 2001 and presently the Assistant Pastor.  In 2011, she was appointed as Overseer of the Family Life International Fellowship and the Master’s Circle Christian Fellowship.  November 2013, she was elevated to Bishop by the Family Life International Fellowship, Austin, TX.   

She has a special calling for women and children and God has used her mightily as a Pastor, Preacher and Teacher of the Family Life Baptist Church.   As a result, she is responsible for the development and implementation of ministries such as Tone the Home Women’s Ministry, God’s Lovely Anointed Daughters Girls Ministry, Marriage Ministry Sunday School Class, (C.A.P.) Founder and Teacher, Singles and Satisfied (SAS) Ministry. Also, she is the Christian Education Director.  She was responsible for the ministry obtaining 501 © 3 status for their community ministry, L.I.F.E. Inc. (Love Involves Family Everyday, Inc.) in 1997 and the Executive Director.   She is the director of Warrior of the Word Character Based Summer Camp that has existed since 1997.  She has been instrumental in building community partnerships with Clayton County School System, Clayton County Sheriff Department, United Way of Metropolitan Atlanta, United Way 211, U.S. Marines Toys for Tots, J.C. Penney, Home Depot, Lowe’s, Wal-Mart, Grady Hospital, Atlanta Diabetes Association,  Clayton County Chamber of Commerce, U.S. Navy, Westlake High School and  Way field Foods. 

She serves as CFO of Trufaith Music Ministry, LLC.  A music company birthed from the Family Life Missionary Baptist Church which manages artists from within the ministry and outside.   

She was a founding member of the Southwest Atlanta Baptist Association, in Nov. 2010 and serves as treasurer.  This is the first association of the Georgia Baptist Convention that was formed by African Americans. .  In 2015, she was appointed to the Executive Board of the Georgia Baptist Mission.

She has served as a member of the Clayton County Board of Education School Council for B.C. Haynie Elementary School, 2011-2012 and member of the Clayton County Marriage and Family Initiative.  

She and her husband, Bishop Alfred T. are founders of ALRO Ministry, Inc. birthed 2011 which specializes in equipping marriages to go to godly heights.  Facilitated a Marriage Session called Taking the Family to Godly Heights every second Sunday of the month on KISS 104.1 AM. for two years.  She and Bishop A.T. have been for married for 34 years and they have two daughters, Trunae Alyse Green 30 years old, married to Thomas Green and they have two sons, Tylan Trunell & Tory Leon with one daughter on the way. She graduated from Lasell College majoring in Public Relations & Marketing and is the owner of The Tru Brand agency and her husband graduated from the MBA program at Georgia State University. He is in upper-level management at Amazon.  Trulyse Faith Lands, 24 years old, is a Math Major from Georgia State University, Atlanta, Georgia. She is a math teacher at Westlake High School while pursuing her Master’s Degree.  Both daughters are a founding member of a female recording band, called God’s Gurls. They have one adopted son, Rev. Taj B. Lands who is a Director of Security at SecurAmerica.
